Speedy lettuce head formation with AMALGEROL

Lettuce heads in Spain underwent 3 treatments with AMALGEROL and were compared to the untreated control.

Lettuce treated with AMALGEROL showed advanced head formation. At the time of evaluation the majority (28 plants out of 40 plants) of the AMALGEROL-treated lettuce plants had reached the end of head formation stage and represented a firm salad.

In comparison, only 11 out of 40 plants in the control group had reached the end of head formation stage.

 These results show that AMALGEROL does not only enhance and accelerate head formation in lettuce but also augments the best quality lettuce by boosting head formation.
