Seed treatment: AMALGEROL effect bigger than rhizobia inoculant effect on soybean

For this field trial, AMALGEROL was not sprayed as usual onto the field but the seeds of soybeans were treated with AMALGEROL.

The AMALGEROL seed treatment was compared to a conventional rhizobia seed inoculant which is widely used for soybeans. The main part of the trial was conducted on small plots with 4 replicates near Odessa.

In addition, 3 larger-scale field trials were conducted in 3 different regions of Ukraine.

The small plot trial compared an untreated control to the conventional inoculant (0,77 l/t), 5 l/t AMALGEROL, 6 l/t AMALGEROL, and the combination AMALGEROL + inoculant.

+ 29 % longer roots

+ 20 % heavier seeds

+ 34 - 52 % higher plants with AMALGEROL and AMALGEROL + inoculant combination, respectively

The second part was a regional comparison of the AMALGEROL effect in the steppe, forest-steppe and Polyssia region in the Ukraine.

In each region 2 plots (one treated the other untreated) were set up.

AMALGEROL could show a stable positive effect in two subsequent years and in all 3 regions.

+ 9 - 29 % yield increase depending on region and year
