AMALGEROL®
In 2018, a field trial was conducted in Arahal, Seville (Southern Spain) to assess the performance of AMALGEROL® on mature olive trees aged between 3 to 4 years. The objective was to measure its impact on plant growth, yield, and overall crop health compared to the standard farmer practice.
The trial included two applications of AMALGEROL via drip irrigation during the spring.
Over the course of the season, trees treated with AMALGEROL consistently outperformed those under standard management. The number of side shoots per tree increased by nearly 10%, and both the length of side shoots (+14.1%) and terminal shoots (+13.1%) improved substantially. These growth parameters reflect stronger vegetative development and canopy expansion.
In addition to enhanced growth, the AMALGEROL treatment delivered a 7.7% increase in total fruit yield (kg/ha) at harvest. While yield and vegetative growth improved, these results suggest a trade-off with smaller, slightly less oil-rich fruits under AMALGEROL treatment. Throughout the trial, no phytotoxic effects were observed, and AMALGEROL-treated trees consistently maintained a higher crop vigour score.
