# earlier ripening, fruit size
Mandarin
Spain
AMALGEROL®
The mandarin orange is one of the most important fruits in Spain, particularly for the export all over Europe. Normally, the price is highest at the beginning of the season. Therefore, the profit can be increased when fruits ripen early.
In the following trial, mandarines growing on a finca in southern Spain were treated with AMALGEROL and compared to an untreated control.
In a statistically profound sampling design, mandarin fruits were picked, measured and analysed in the lab to evaluate the AMALGEROL effect on fruit size, acidity and maturity.
The AMALGEROL-treated mandarines were in average 6 % bigger (statistically significant), less sour (- 28 % citric acid) and earlier mature: 25 % of the AMALGEROL fruits had already started to change color when all of the untreated fruits were still green.
