AMALGEROL ESSENCE and AMALGEROL reduce sunburn damage and inrease yield along with fruit quality

In this standardised field trial with apples of the variety "Geneva Early", the effect of AMALGEROL ESSENCE and AMALGEROL was tested and compared to non-treated apples.

Both, the treatment with AMALGEROL ESSENCE and AMALGEROL resulted in a higher yield. The yield increase ranges between 63% after a one application of AMALGEROL ESSENCE (1 x 4 l/ha) and over 80% after 3 applications of AMALGEROL ESSENCE (3 x 3 l/ha) and AMALGEROL (3 x 3 l/ha).

Furthermore, sunburn damage could be reduced from 25% in the untreated control to 3 - 8 % when treated with AMALGEROL ESSENCE and 5 % when treated with AMALGEROL, respectively.

When treated with AMALGEROL ESSENCE and AMALGEROL, the fruits were more even sized. The medium and large fraction (d > 5.5 cm) made up 69 - 75 % whereas it made up only 49 % in the control. Sugar concentration in the control apples was in average 14,7 g/100 cm³, whereas it was 15,2 and 15,7 in the AMALGEROL ESSENCE treated apples (1 and 3 applications, respectively; + 7 % sugar).
