Welcome to the 14th AMALGEROL Conference in Innsbruck
Dr. Hanspeter Hueter, Hechenbichler GmbH, Austria
In a world where uncertainty has become the norm, our strongest and most meaningful response is to remain united - supporting one another while driving innovation and progress together. The more challenging the times, the more essential the AMALGEROL Conference becomes as a forum to connect, to collaborate, and to shape our shared future.
Linking Soil Health and Ecological Resilience - Foundations for Successful Agriculture
Dr. Silvia Fluch, Hechenbichler GmbH, Austria
Globally, soils are increasingly degraded due to overexploitation, leading to significant impacts on landscapes and agriculture. Implementing sustainable agricultural practices offers a key strategy to preserve soils while producing healthier food. Regenerative systems and systems thinking need to be strengthened for soil conservation and climate resilience.
Understanding Health "From the Ground Up"
Univ.-Prof. Mag. DDr. Martin Grassberger University of Vienna, Austria
Microbial communities and networks are essential for life on Earth to flourish. The keynote provides an overview of the astonishing links between the soil and the health of all multicellular organisms including us humans.
Some New Aspects of Applying AMALGEROL ESSENCE in Grapevine and Sweet Cherry
Prof. Dr. Mario Lešnik & Prof. Dr. Andreja Urbanek-Krajnc University of Maribor, Slovenia
The lecture presents the impact of late summer applications of AMALGEROL ESSENCE (AE) on aroma formation in the Sauvignon grape variety under stress conditions due to high summer temperatures. In another experiment, AE preparation was used for improving frost resistance and post-frost regeneration of damaged tissue in three sweet cherry varieties. The results of the study show that the use of AE preparation in late summer affects the aromatic profile of Sauvignon wine. Applying AE (3 l/ha) three times during the cherry blossom period alleviated frost damage in the temperature range between 0 and -3 °C. AE-treated cherries had a significantly higher fruit set in comparison to untreated cherry trees, which resulted in increased yield.
AMALGEROL ESSENCE Launch in France Against Pedological Stress
Axel Cohen, Action Pin, France
Over the past two years, Action Pin has conducted extensive field trials to develop AMALGEROL ESSENCE for managing pedological stress. This presentation outlines the key findings, emphasizing its contribution to soil resilience and improved crop performance in France.
Experience with AMALGEROL ESSENCE in Reducing the Frost Effect on Apples in Central Anatolia
Ali Çanakçı, Alfa A. Ziraat, Türkiye
This presentation shares the experience with AMALGEROL ESSENCE (AME) in mitigating frost damage on apples in Central Anatolia, Turkey. Over the past four years, field demonstrations have highlighted AME’s effectiveness in reducing frost stress and identified its optimal application positioning on apple orchards.
The Effect of AMALGEROL ESSENCE on Microorganisms Contained in Biological Preparations: Intensification of Soil Microbiome Activity
Małgorzata Wilkosz-Stróżyk, PhD, Agrii Polska Sp. z o.o., Poland
We have tons of microorganisms in the soil. To benefit the soil and the environment, they need a proper booster. Without the right nutrient, microorganism growth is limited. Therefore, AMALGEROL ESSENCE provides an ideal base for the entire soil microbiota and supports sustainable agriculture.
AMALGEROL ESSENCE Field Trials and Results from Bulgaria: Insights from Local Conditions
Vasilena Rangelova, MBA, Mediplus R, Bulgaria
This presentation summarizes field trial results with AMALGEROL ESSENCE under Bulgarian conditions. The data highlight crop responses and yield effects, reflecting the challenges of local climate variability. Practical insights from these trials provide valuable guidance for optimizing product use in real farming situations.
AMALGEROL Applications in Fruit Tree Nurseries – Chestnut Trials from the USA
Eric Massey, AMALGEROL USA
This short talk presents nursery trials with chestnut trees in the USA conducted with AMALGEROL. The work, which began with nutrient trials on fruit trees, has since expanded to other species, offering insights into the broader potential of AMALGEROL in tree cultivation.
Strategic Applications of AMALGEROL ESSENCE: Insights from Canadian Trials
Logan Skori, PhD, Hechenbichler GmbH, Canada
AMALGEROL ESSENCE is being evaluated across Canadian cropping systems using seed and tuber dressing, soil injection, and foliar applications to improve plant vigor, soil function, and stress resilience. Use cases span broadacre and specialty crops, with an emphasis on low-cost strategies to maximize ROI for Canadian farmers.
CEDRIC - Creation of a Sustainable Cross-Border Agro-Ecosystem by Leveraging Root Microbiome Biodiversity
Prof. Chris Rinke, University of Innsbruck, Austria
Microbes play a crucial role in plant health by producing essential molecules and performing functions that support plant growth and survival. They facilitate nutrient uptake, promote growth, defend against pests and diseases, and enhance resilience to environmental stressors such as drought and heat. These beneficial interactions primarily occur in the rhizosphere, the region surrounding plant roots, where microbes form symbiotic relationships with plants. But what if we could harness this natural partnership by transplanting the microbiome of healthy plants into recipient crops?
AMALGEROL Biostimulants - Mode of Action with Special Focus on Soil Effects
Dr. Silvia Fluch, Hechenbichler GmbH, Austria
Biostimulants work on the entire agri-ecosystem, supporting plant health and soil health simultaneously. The mode of action of different products from the AMALGEROL biostimulant family will be explored in detail, with a specific focus on soil impacts generated by the long-term application of AMALGEROL.
Improving Straw Decomposition with AMALGEROL and AMALGEROL ESSENCE
Max Holzknecht, MSc, Hechenbichler GmbH, Austria
Straw and plant residues that remain on the field after harvest are integrated into the soil matrix as organic matter and thereby restore fertility to some extent. Biostimulants of the AMALGEROL family can improve this process and promote the decomposition of organic materials. Current results from field trials and lab experiments are presented and discussed in view of soil health parameters.
Update on Regulatory Affairs and Labels
Franziska Wohlgemuth, PhD, Hechenbichler GmbH, Austria
National and international rules and legislation are constantly changing, providing safer and better characterized products for end users. In response to these legal requirements, HECHENBICHLER continuously monitors and updates its product composition, registrations as well as labeling requirements. Here, an overview will be presented of the certificates and registration adjustments necessary to comply with national and international requirements.
