Why nitrogen and sulphur?

Why do plants need nitrogen and sulphur?

As one of the three main nutrients, nitrogen plays a crucial role in protein metabolism and photosynthesis. Plants can absorb nitrogen in the form of nitrate and ammonium. Plants can utilize nitrate very well, but due to its high mobility and solubility it can be very easily washed out.

A nitrogen deficiency can also occur with the increased nutrient requirements during growth phases.

SULFO-N quickly delivers available ammonium and thereby helps to compensate for a lack of nitrogen.

SULFO-N also contains a high proportion of sulphur. This nutrient is a vital element for building protein and increases nitrogen efficiency. The sulphur is present as thiosulfate. In this form, part of the sulphur is quickly available as sulfate, however the effect lasts over several weeks.

combined fertilization

SULFO-N is the ideal product for combined nitrogen-sulphur fertilization

  • High nitrogen and sulphur content, immediately available to the plants
  • Improves the efficiency of nitrogen fertilization
  • Source of readily available ammonium nitrate and sulfate
  • Increases the availability of the nutrients iron and manganese

Application rates per hectare and application timing: Minimum water quantity 250 l / ha. Use at growth stages per crop as recommended below. Spray in the evening.

Cereals: 3 l at tillering (BBCH 20 - 30); 5 l at inflorescence emerging (BBCH 51) to increase the protein content

Maize: 5 l at 4 - 8 leaves stage (BBCH 14 - 18)

Sugar beet: 5 l at crop cover (BBCH 30); when required repeat at a time interval of 10 days

Oilseed rape: 5 l in autumn at 7 - 8 leaves stage (BBCH 17 - 18); 5 l in spring at bud development (BBCH 50);
Do not spray during flowering!

Oil pumpkin: 4 l at emergence of fruits

Straw decomposition: 20 - 30 l after harvest onto the straw, use well-netting nozzles, then incorporate shallow.

UAN (Urea Ammonium Nitrate): 10 % admixture to improve the nitrogen effect

12 % Ammoniacal nitrogen (N) 160 g/l
26 % Sulphur (S) 346 g/l

ph-value: 8 - 9
